Ear Piercing Columbus, Ohio
Where Precision & Safety Meet the Art of the Piercing
Key Clinical Takeaways
- What It Is: Ear piercing is a straightforward, precise & clinically informed procedure. Each placement decision, piece of jewelry & aftercare recommendation is made with your long-term comfort & healing in mind.
- Who It Is For: Pretty much everyone. Adults seeking a first or fifth piercing, parents bringing their kids, patients who’ve completed an earlobe repair & are ready to pierce again.
- Donaldson Difference: We offer surgical-grade sterility standards, intentionally selected jewelry & curated aftercare. What sets us apart exists in both the credentials of those who perform the piercing & the entire environment in which it happens.
Meet Andie Schroeder, LME — Your Ear Piercing Specialist
Andie is a licensed medical aesthetician and licensed cosmetic tattoo artist who has been with Donaldson since 2022. Her work spans cosmetic tattooing, clinical skincare, ear piercing and beyond. She approaches each patient interaction with the same precision, personal attention and goal of a safe, natural-looking outcome that everyone involved will be proud of.

What a Piercing Appointment With Her Looks Like
No consultation required. When you book with Andie, your appointment covers everything, including placement discussion, jewelry selection, the piercing itself and your aftercare walkthrough. With your input, she is able to handle all of this in one sitting.
It’s efficient, but never rushed.
Understanding Your Placement Options
Whether you’re keeping it classic or building something that makes more of a statement, Andie can help you figure out what works for your anatomy and your goals.
She offers a range of ear piercing placements, including:
- Lobes: Firsts, doubles & stacked lobes for a curated, layered look
- Helix: Along the outer cartilage ridge
- Flat/Flap: On the inner cartilage shelf
- Nostril: Traditional nostril placement (no septum currently; more information below)

Mall kiosks. Jewelry stores. Walk-in studios. These commercial spaces are perfectly capable of getting the job done. But the question isn’t “can they do it,” rather “what happens before, during and after?”
Preparation & Aftercare
Comprehensive, Clinical-Level Care in Every Session

Jewelry That Heals With You
The jewelry we use isn’t selected for looks alone. The slightly thicker post gauge we use creates a cleaner channel through the tissue, which supports a more stable, faster heal with less risk of the piercing shifting or becoming irritated during the process.

Your Aftercare Plan
Andie walks you through everything before you leave, including what to clean with, what to avoid and what to watch for. We carry aftercare products in-office, and our team remains available between appointments if any questions arise. Irritation bumps, sizing issues, general healing questions — you don’t have to figure those out alone.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Booking is simple. Call to schedule and come into the office. If you are comfortable with the timeline, Andie handles placement consultation and the piercing itself in a single visit. Cartilage placements typically require a longer initial jewelry length to accommodate swelling, which she will explain and account for at your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We offer a full range of ear placements, including lobe piercings (firsts, seconds and stacked), helix piercings along the outer cartilage, and flat/flap piercings on the inner cartilage shelf. -
Yes, initial jewelry is provided and included with your piercing. We use intentionally selected pieces with slightly thicker posts, which create a more stable healing channel and reduce the risk of migration or irritation. You do not need to bring your own jewelry in; we provide the right tool for the job from the start.
-
Many local studios are excellent at what they do and we fully support their work. But the clinical environment makes a meaningful difference. At Donaldson, ear piercing is performed under the same surgical-grade sterility and safety protocols used throughout our practice.
That means rigorous infection control, provider accountability and a level of aftercare continuity that some studios are unable to offer.
-
Yes. Andie performs ear piercings for children, and the same clinical standards apply regardless of age. If you’re bringing a child in for their first piercing, the appointment includes a full aftercare walkthrough, so parents leave knowing exactly how to support the healing process at home.
-
The most common risks include infection, irritation bumps and improper placement. We proactively address each of these at our practice through strict sterility protocols, intentional jewelry selection and a hands-on aftercare plan.
Andie is also available after your appointment if any issues arise, so you’re not navigating potential complications or confusion without medical support.
-
Yes. Our surgical team performs earlobe repair for torn, stretched or damaged earlobes. Once you’ve healed, Andie can re-pierce the same ear with full knowledge of your repair history already in hand.
-
Andie does offer traditional nostril piercings. Septum piercings are not currently available. If you’re interested in a nostril piercing, mention it when you book and we’ll get you set up with Andie.
