This exfoliating facial treatment is strategically designed to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells to bring out the smooth, bright and youthful complexion that lies underneath. Not only do dermaplaning treatments remove “peach fuzz,” but it also makes makeup application easier and skin products more effective.
Before your appointment, we ask that you wear no makeup. We first use an alcohol swap to sanitize your skin before thoroughly washing the surface. Our experienced providers will then use a sterile, 10 gauge scalpel and the utmost care when slowly gliding the blade across your skin – much like shaving but a little more intensive. After the layers of dead skin, hair, scar tissue and other debris are removed, your skin will be immediately and noticeably more radiant.
The entire process takes about 30 minutes in total.
Not at all! The feeling is comparable to shaving your legs – a slight tingling, but no pain. However, because a fairly sharp blade is involved, we have you remain still throughout the treatment. Side effects are exceptionally rare and can include infections, irritation and scarring.
Recovery requires zero downtime. At most, you could experience some redness for 2-3 days after the treatment. To maximize the lifetime of your results, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight (or at least using sunblock) as the sun can reverse the positive effects of dermaplaning.
This treatment is temporary and usually lasts about 4 weeks in total. The effects of dermaplaning begin to diminish once dead skin cells begin to accumulate and the fine hairs grow back. We recommend this treatment once a month for radiant skin all the time or a few days before an event, like a photo shoot, model walk or night out.
