Your Eyebrow Microblading Experts

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up in the morning with perfect brows and the confidence that comes with them? Well, you can! Enter microblading. This innovative beauty procedure is the answer to all of your brow woes. With microblading, you can transform your thin misshapen eyebrows into the full, vibrant brows you’ve been dreaming of.

What Exactly is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow enhancement technique that adds volume and definition to the eyebrows. It’s performed with a special hand-held tool made up of a collection of tiny needles, which are used to make small incisions that manually deposit pigment into your skin. This creates fine hair-like strokes that result in beautiful, natural looking brows.

The procedure takes about 90 minutes to complete and causes only mild discomfort. And the best part? It requires zero downtime. You’ll leave the office that day with gorgeous eyebrows and ready to take on the world.

On Point: The Value of Perfectly Shaped Eyebrows

It doesn’t matter if you like them thin with a little arch or bold and straight across, your eyebrows are arguably your most important facial feature. They frame your eyes, brighten your face and give you a more youthful appearance. Plus, there’s something about having your brows on point that just makes you feel good.

Long-Term Results For Less Money

So many women struggle with brows they don’t love. Whether it was that time you over-plucked them back in high school, or after a trip to the salon when you realized your stylist waxed them unevenly, bad brows happen all the time and it can take some time for them to recover. That means spending time (and money!) on pencils, gels and the like to fill in sparse areas and temporarily repair the damage done. Who has time for all of that?

Who Performs the Microblading Procedure?

Microblading at Donaldson Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Solutions is performed by Tatjana, our Lead Medical Aesthetician. Tatjana has worked in the beauty industry for more than 20 years, specializing in dermatology and aesthetic services, and is certified to perform microblading through Lavish Beauty and Brow. Throughout her training, Tatjana perfected her technique, creating the perfect hair strokes on paper, 2D skin, 3D skin and finally on patient models. The ink she uses is made in Hawaii and is very gentle on the skin and natural looking.

All of Tatjana’s work has been graded and approved by Lavish Beauty and Brow, and she has also received a tattoo license through the Columbus Public Health department to perform the microblading procedure.

How is Microblading Different From Other Cosmetic Tattooing?

Trust us, these aren’t the eyebrow tattoos that you’re used to! Before microblading, brow tattoos were drawn using traditional tattoo machines and in many cases using standard tattoo ink rather than cosmetic ink. You actually had to shave off your existing brow hairs before the procedure, and the application tended to be much heavier. These brows tended to look unnatural in both shape and color — think more of a block that has been colored in with a marker.

Microblading Makes the Most of What You’ve Got!

Microblading, on the other hand, is designed to enhance what you already have. The artist draws individual strokes using a soft, feathered application that mimics real hair. The pigment blends in with your natural eyebrows to create realistic brows that fit the proportions of your face and highlight your unique features. That means each patient’s brows will look a little bit different, and that’s a good thing! Microblading is not a one-size-fits all procedure. Our aesthetician will make sure that the brows you get are the perfect fit for you.

What Should I Expect From My Microblading Appointment?

The first thing we’ll do is schedule a time for you to come in and meet with Tatjana for a personalized consultation. Tatjana will assess your skin and brows to make sure that you are a good candidate for the microblading, as well as answer any questions you have so that you know exactly what to expect.

After the consultation, you can schedule your microblading appointment! When you arrive, we will confirm that you’ve followed all of the pre-procedure instructions before getting started.

Tatjana will start by cleaning up your brows so that they are prepped and ready to go. Then, she applies a topical numbing cream to ensure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure. While the anesthetic is setting, you and Tatjana will work together to choose the best color and shape for your new brows. Tatjana will draw the shape for your new enhanced brows, taking special care to ensure they complement your bone structure and facial features. Once you agree on the shape and color, Tatjana can proceed with the microblading procedure.

After your brows are finished, she will apply a healing ointment to soothe your skin and protect your new brows. You’ll be given specific aftercare instructions and that’s it! You’re ready for your first brow selfie!

Will I Need To Get My Brows Touched Up?

Because it’s not a permanent solution, your brows will fade and require a touch-up every now and again. Your new eyebrows will last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, with an average of about 18 months before they start to noticeably fade.

We recommend patients come back for their first touch up about 4-6 weeks after your initial session, which is the optimal time to perfect the shape and ensure that you’re loving your new brows. After that, depending on your skin type and lifestyle, you may need to schedule annual touch-ups.

Touch-ups for Microblading are priced as follows:
  • 4 weeks to 3 months: $100
  • 3 to 6 months: $150
  • 6 to 9 months: $250
  • 9 to 12 months: $350

Am I a Good Candidate for Microblading?

There’s a good chance that you are! Microblading is great for those who have over-plucked their eyebrows or who have very thin/light eyebrows that they want to accentuate. It can fill in gaps, cover scars and reshape the brows for a more flattering look. Results do vary, though, and it’s important to talk to your aesthetician about any skin conditions or health concerns you have to determine whether you are a good candidate for microblading.

Microblading works best on those who have normal, dry or combination skin with small pores. The reason why is that people with oily skin have a higher risk of rejecting the pigment or experiencing pigment hydration, which is when the pigment fans out and causes the strokes to blend together. If you have very thin, sensitive skin that is easily irritated, you also may have poor retention of the microblading pigment.

Microblading is Not Recommended for Anyone Who is or Has:

  • under 18 years of age
  • skin irritations/illnesses such as sunburn, psoriasis, eczema, shingles, acne and undiagnosed rashes or blisters near the treatment site
  • scarring in the treatment area
