We understand that preparing for a surgical consultation can be intimidating; that’s why we’ve broken the process down into two discrete, easy parts for your convenience!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

Now that you’ve gotten to know our practice and are ready to move forward, we will schedule you to come into the office for a second, in-person consultation. This is where we will answer any additional questions that have come up and smooth out the details for your surgery!

Is There A BMI Limit for Surgery?

It’s important to note that we do have a BMI limit for surgery. BMI, or body mass index, is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. It’s an important factor to consider when determining the best course of treatment for a variety of medical conditions, including those that require surgery.

While we understand that surgery can be a life-changing option for many individuals, it’s important to consider the risks associated with surgery in individuals with a high BMI. These risks can include longer surgical times, higher risk of complications during and after surgery, and longer recovery times.

To ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients, we have the following BMI limits for surgery:

For all treatments, the upper BMI limit is 40. Certain surgeries like thigh lift, tummy tucks, and buttock contouring have a BMI limit of 35. Please call us to discuss if you have any questions about our BMI limits.
Do You Have An Age Restriction?

We’re dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality of care, and part of that commitment includes ensuring that our surgical procedures are performed safely and effectively. As a result, we do have an age restriction for surgery.

You must be at least 18 to pursue surgery as an individual. However, we understand that surgery can sometimes be necessary for people of all ages. For this reason, minors under the age of 18 may be considered candidates for surgery under the guidance of a parents or legal guardian.

We consider a wide range of health factors when considering candidacy and do not perform surgery on patients 70 and older.
