The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research was started by the Spielman family when Stefanie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. Both she and her husband, Chris Spielman, former football player for the Detroit Lions, started the foundation to increase awareness about the disease.
