Station 2:
grip strength
Why it Matters: Grip strength is thought to be directly related to the loss of muscle as we age. Weak hand grip strength is associated with increased hospitalization, poor nutritional status, overall mortality and quality of life.
How Can I Improve?

Farmer's Carry
The Farmer’s Carry improves grip strength by requiring sustained, loaded holds that challenge the forearm muscles and enhance overall hand endurance. Start slow – the goal is 100% of body weight in men and 75% of body weight for women for 30-60 seconds. Keep good posture.

Dead Hang
The dead hang strengthens grip by engaging and conditioning the forearm and hand muscles through sustained bodyweight suspension. Exercise caution if you have shoulder issues.
