Most Popular Neurotoxin of 2025

The Wrinkle Relaxers Our Patients Were Treated with Most Often

Most Popular Neurotoxin of 2025

A patient’s neurotoxin preference can be influenced by a number of personal and biological factors, including how long they want it to last, what areas they’re treating and even how often they hit the gym. Each neurotoxin we offer has a unique formulation and its own set of benefits. After all, if it didn’t have clinical merit, we simply wouldn’t offer it!

Here is the Most Popular Neurotoxin of 2025, based on real appointment data from Donaldson Plastic Surgery.

What We Learned

Botox Reigns as Top Neurotoxin, But Daxxify Had Its Strongest Year Yet

Botox Cosmetic: It’s Popular. It’s Safe. And It’s Effective!

Botox continues to be the most widely used neurotoxin at our practice. It is incredibly reliable and works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Our credentialed providers also use Botox for several specialized concerns including TMJ-related pain, Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and “TrapTox” to help reduce shoulder tension.

Daxxify by Revance: It Works Fast & It Works for a While

Daxxify has carved out a significant presence this year. We believe this is thanks in large part to its peptide-powered formulation, which allows it to bind more efficiently and last longer for some patients. It also gained traction across Reddit and TikTok, and with an uptick in interest from male patients in particular at our practice.

How Longevity of Results May Impact the Numbers

Because Daxxify can last 6+ months in some cases, its lower appointment share doesn’t necessarily signal lower popularity. Results duration is highly variable and influenced by your workout habits, skincare routine and overall biology.

Dysport: Wider Diffusion, Consistent Market Share

Dysport continues to hold its ground with a small but loyal base. Known for its wider diffusion pattern, Dysport is a go-to option for patients looking to treat larger areas more efficiently. Once a patient has had success with Dysport, they often tend to stick with it.

Xeomin: The “Naked” Neurotoxin That Helps Address Resistance

Xeomin has no accessory proteins, hence the “naked” nickname, which may help reduce the risk of developing resistance in some patients. This “cleaner” formulation is appealing to patients who feel that other neurotoxins aren’t working quite as well anymore.

While clinical evidence on resistance prevention is still evolving, Xeomin remains a promising alternative.

Stacie Isler’s Botox Resistance Journey

Donaldson Plastic Surgery injection specialist Stacie Isler, PA-C, experienced Botox resistance firsthand. After years of successful treatments, she saw diminishing returns — a phenomenon sometimes referred to as “Botox Immunity.” She turned to MYOBLOC, a botulinum type B neurotoxin.

At the 10-day mark, she noticed significant improvements, with some minor brow ptosis (a common response in frontalis injections). Her crow’s feet and frown lines responded well, making MYOBLOC a viable option in her unique case.

Note: MYOBLOC is not currently offered at our practice.

Letybo: Lesser Known, But Precise

Letybo is the newest neurotoxin on our roster, used in very limited scenarios. This product received FDA approval in 2024 and became available for public use in March 2025.

It has shown promise, especially in internal testing among our team members. We will continue to evaluate its long-term reliability and efficacy before expanding access to more patients.

Which Neurotoxin Is Best for Me?

This is a profoundly personal decision — & not one you should have to make on your own! Your unique anatomy, medical history and goals all play a critical role. These factors should all be discussed with a credentialed provider before making any decision.

What Our Providers Consider When Helping a Patient Find a Solution

  • Previous Experience: If you’ve used neurotoxin injections in the past, your outcomes will provide a trove of information for your provider, including how long your results lasted, if the injection felt “heavy” and how effective you felt it was.

  • Purpose of Injection: If you’re treating Hyperhidrosis or TMJ symptoms, Botox is often the preferred starting point due to its proven versatility and safety record.

  • Exercise & Sweat Levels: Your workout routine can directly impact how long a neurotoxin remains effective, especially with more metabolically active lifestyles.

  • Anatomy & Genetics: Your facial musculature and inherited traits determine which formulation will offer the most balanced, natural-looking results along with how the injection “feels” under your skin.

  • Dedication to Skincare: The more committed you are to sun protection and skincare, the longer your results are likely to last.

  • Longevity Preferences: If you want a product that may last longer between visits, Daxxify injections or increased units of Botox per injection are solutions that are worth discussing.

“Price should not be the main driver for your decision. This is important. A ‘good deal’ may indicate a shortcoming from somewhere else, like product quality or injector experience. Cost can play a role in your decision, but I tell patients it should be at the bottom of the list!”
