Aesthetic Experts Review Morpheus8

Is This Celebrity-Backed Skin Tightening Treatment Worth The Hype?

Celebrity treatment endorsements can be leading indicators of new fleeting trends or they can be the gorgeous canary in the coal mine – a sign that an innovative and meaningful solution has entered the market.

When Kim Kardashian popularized Morpheus8 in the aesthetic space, it piqued our interest, but we knew this was now our responsibility to determine if this new technology is worth the hype before offering it to our patients.

Stacie & Adrienne: Our Aesthetic Providers Providing Insider Info

We are Stacie Isler, PA-C and Adrienne Yanich, RN – two aesthetic providers at Donaldson Plastic Surgery. With more than twenty years of combined experience in the plastic surgery and aesthetics space, we only recommend treatments that are backed by science and actually produce real, meaningful results. We generally prefer to try out our non-surgical services prior to offering them to our patients so we can be authentic with any recommendations. We would never offer something we wouldn’t trust on ourselves!

The Background: What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 by InMode is primarily a skin-tightening solution. It uses radiofrequency heat to create collagen, lessen the appearance of scars and wrinkles, and firm and tighten skin.

Kim K. referred to it as a laser, and it is comparable to one, but it isn’t technically a laser. She reported to her social media following that Morpheus8 was a game-changer in tightening her stomach after pregnancy. Not only can it be used on the abdomen, but it can actually be used on most areas of the body!

Beyond skin tightening, Morpheus8 boasts the ability to improve skin texture and appearance, “melt” fat, reduce the appearance of scars, help with sweating (hyperhidrosis) and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Why Did We Want To Try Morpheus8?

We perform Botox, filler, lasers and more on a daily basis. We are consumers of these products and services as well. We have the advantage of thoroughly understanding the science behind these treatments, viewing the before and afters with an objective eye, and assessing if these treatments are effective before they are even offered at our practice.

The entire Donaldson Plastic Surgery team is always looking for new things that can give us that additional boost of confidence. As women in their 30s and 40s, we are looking for anti-aging benefits, like smoother and brighter skin. We’re looking out for proven solutions for ourselves and our patients – the ones just like you!

We Had High Expectations For Morpheus8. And They Were Met. Here’s What It Was Like:

The entire non-invasive treatment took between 30-45 minutes depending on the area. We applied topical numbing before we started, so the experience was generally comfortable. There is a warm/hot sensation that occurs at first but lasts only for the duration of the energy delivery. It dissipates once the treatment is complete.

After just one treatment, we understood the hype of this device. We both already see a noticeable difference in the firmness of our skin and our complexions aren’t as dull as before. We honestly can’t wait to finish up the recommended series (a total of three treatments)!

Recovery & Final Results

The recovery process was easy with the use of the recommended skincare products. Some mild dryness and flaking were observed in the week following the treatment and the skin felt tight and firm.

We were told that the best results are seen after a series of three, and the final results are within 3-6 months, upon the completion of collagen formation. We’ll continue our treatments and watch for our full glow to show.

Everyone is different in their timeline of collagen breakdown, but it is recommended to repeat the Morpheus 1-2 times a year to maintain your results. This recommendation can differ based on your unique goals.

So Is Morpheus8 Worth It?

In our professional and personal opinions: yes! Kim K. was correct in her assessment of the quality of this treatment.

Of course, like with all aesthetic treatments, your satisfaction with your results depends on your initial goals. If skin laxity or wrinkling bothers you, if you have scars that are remaining from previous surgery or injury, or if you have stretch marks that are bothersome to you, this is an ideal treatment.
