Everything You Need To Know After Your Treatment

You’ve just completed your Morpheus8 session and you’re likely experiencing some mild swelling on top of the anticipation for the incredible results that are on their way. This page is dedicated to answering the questions you have as you recover while showing you what you can do today to further enhance and protect your results.

What You Should Have At Home To Aid In Recovery:

  • Alastin’s ReFORM & RePAIR topical skin treatment
  • Loose-fitting clothing
  • Mild soaps for gentle cleansing
  • Tylenol
  • Water with electrolytes

It Is Completely Normal To Experience The Following:

  • Feeling flushed or slightly sunburnt for a few hours
  • Mild swelling
  • Redness
  • Small scabs
  • Some peeling and flaking
  • Tenderness

These effects should subside on their own within one or two days. In rare cases, it may take up to 2 weeks for the symptoms to completely resolve — but this is not a cause for concern. Every individual body is different and heals in different ways! Body treatments, in particular, can take a little longer to heal due to the increased depth into the skin.

Tylenol Is Ok To Alleviate Discomfort

The Alastin Soothe + Protect Recovery Balm and the Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar will provide relief during this time. You should, however, avoid Ibuprofen/NSAIDs as these can cause more bruising.

What We Recommend To Alleviate Discomfort

The Alastin Soothe + Protect Recovery Balm

Includes Physalis Angulata Extract that helps improve the appearance of skin following a procedure.

Alastin Ultra Light Moisturizer

Helps restore and promote an optimal environment to improve the appearance of skin following a cosmetic treatment.

Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar

Calms post-procedure skin and helps reduce recovery time with Arnica, Phytoene, Phytofluene, and Narigenin with Panthenyl Triacetate.

What You Should Avoid After Your Treatment

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas and steam rooms for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation.
  • Do not apply makeup, retinol, topical antibiotics or other products to the treated area for at least 48 hours.
  • You should also abstain from strenuous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating for up to 48 hours after Morpheus8.
  • Do not scratch, pick or rub the treated area as this can cause irritation or infection.
  • Avoid hugging, kissing or rubbing your face on a pet.

Avoid Alcohol After Treatment To Improve Recovery

We highly recommend patients avoid alcohol for 24 hours before their treatment and for up to 48 hours after. Alcohol thins the blood, dries the skin and can prolong or complicate the healing process.

Everything You Should Do After Your Treatment

  • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 whenever you are exposed to the sun.
  • Follow the skincare routine recommended by the provider after treatment, which may include gentle cleansers and moisturizers.
  • Stay hydrated to promote skin healing and rejuvenation.
  • Use a cool compress to reduce swelling, if necessary.
  • Follow up with your provider for any scheduled appointments or additional treatments to bolster results.
  • There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat the skin gently and avoid scrubbing or trauma to the treated area.
