The importance of researching a plastic surgeon was also the topic of a segment in Columbus, Ohio, on NBC affiliate WCMH-TV (65,135 viewers; 1.3 million unique visitors). The station profiled a young mother who suffered severe complications after a botched tummy tuck. The reporter turned to ASPS Member Jeffrey Donaldson, MD, for advise about what consumer should look for when selecting a plastic surgeon. Donaldson noted that 5 percent of his work is revisions from botched surgeries performed by unqualified practitioners. The report cited advise from ASPS and provided a link to the ASPS Find-A-Surgeon tool on its website.
